Using the strategies from Eric Jensen and brain-based learning, the teaching staff at Wolford Elementary created TEEMM's ( technology, energizers, engagement, music and movement) a few years ago as we continue to infuse brain-based strategies into our lesson designs. If you click on the TEEMM header above, you will see drop down menus with information from our five different brain-based teams.
At Wolford, we aim to create engaging lessons so that our students become empowered in the learning process. Creating resilient learners who take an active part in their own learning is one important avenue we explore in our school.
Brain-based learning is all about smarter, more purposeful teaching that can empower and reach a greater number of students in our classrooms. It’s not any one single thing that a teacher does. It’s more about the on-going, purposeful aggregate of environment, instruction, and curriculum strategies that makes it all work. Using practical strategies, teachers can link brain research to student achievement. As our theme states:"Success Starts Here...With our Kids in Mind!" Our teachers work hard each and every day to create engaging lessons for ALL learners at Wolford.
